Process
As the designer and owner of Brad’s Designs and Jewelry in Crown Point, Indiana, I have spent three decades creating meaningful pieces of jewelry. When we work together, my objective is to tell your story in the special piece that we design as a team. Here’s a look at how the process works:

Consultation.
Every piece of jewelry created starts with a consultation, where our team can learn more about the story behind the design you’re looking for. We may be responsible for the creative side of things, but our inspiration comes from you and your dreams for the perfect piece.

Design
The next step in our process is the design phase. We encourage you to participate in this part of the process as much as you are comfortable, and ask you to bring in photos of other pieces you may like, your own sketches, or other sources of information and inspiration that you have. Once we have an idea of what you’re looking for, we will create a sketch of your piece. This is where we really need your opinion – if there is anything that doesn’t ‘wow’ you, we will rework it until it’s perfect.

Wax Carving
Before we create your actual piece of jewelry, we create a wax carving to ensure that we are all on the same page and that you will end up with the piece of jewelry of your dreams. We can do our wax carvings by hand, or use our state-of-the-art dream forming machine. If everything looks perfect to you, we move onto the next step.

Casting
After you have approved the wax carving and are 100 percent satisfied with the design, we cast it in your choice of material. You can choose between platinum, gold, or silver (and variations of these materials), or metal.

Fabrication
The fabrication of your piece is done by hand. This not only guarantees that you will have a unique piece that is entirely yours, but also provides a higher level of quality and craftsmanship.

Setting
Once the foundation of your piece has been established, we will then set your piece with any stones that you have selected. Again, this process is done entirely by hand, combining science and art to secure the stones in a manner that showcases their unique and one-of-a-kind beauty.
